A little about our Co-Founders…
Dr. Abhiram Dukkipati
Co-Founder and Chief Scientific OfficerDr. Abhiram Dukkipati is the Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Magellan. Awarded the prestigious European Marie Curie Research fellowship for pioneering BacMam for Structural Biology while at Stanford University, he specializes in structural studies of proteins.
Abhiram brings with him tremendous knowledge and experience on structural determination of proteins. Before founding Magellan, he has worked in collaboration with several multinational pharma companies on the structure determination efforts of their proprietary protein targets and has co-authored several high impact peer reviewed publications.
His invention continues to be used and has now become the most preferred platform to transiently deliver target receptors, genetically-encoded biosensors and other constructs in their cells of interest. In a recent landmark study, this platform has been used to determine the first ever structure of a viral GPCR (G-Protein Coupled Receptor) protein.
Laxmi S. Wagle
Co-Founder and Chief Strategy OfficerLaxmi S. Wagle is the Executive Chairman and Chief Strategy Officer of Magellan Life Sciences Ltd. Coming from a diverse background in Advertising and Marketing, she brings deep knowledge of consumer psychology and market trends.
Her educational background is in Advertising with an MFA (Master of Fine Arts) from Savannah College of Art & Design, Savannah, Georgia, one of the top five private art schools in the US. Having worked with several advertising and marketing agencies as a Senior Art Director, she eventually progressed into leadership roles across renowned agencies in the US.
Before the inception of Magellan Life Sciences, she co-founded Thought Waves Media, a KPO based out of India and Atlanta, US. With over 25 years of business experience spanning global brands and entrepreneurial ventures, her core expertise lies in identifying new market opportunities while keeping the company’s vision aligned with its philosophy.
